The question of the environmental protection, of the reduction of the pollution and of climate protection are surely some of the most important issues nowadays. On their solution all the nations are concentrating their efforts. Bioplastics or “green-plastics” are surely one of the replies to these needs, considering that among the advantages of their use we have:
  • their biodegradability and natural decomposition in short time;
  • for their production are used resources yearly renewable;
  • the reduction of the use of fossil resources and consequent reduction of CO2 emissions;
  • less emissions of toxic fumes in case of their incineration
Tecnoform, always careful to environmental issues, is today able to make its part producing thermoformings for its clients using bioplastics with vegetal origin, in particular PLA. The Poli Lactic Acid (PLA) is a polymer derived from renewable raw materials such as corn, potato, wheat and other starch rich crops.
It is completely biodegradable and then it is converted in CO2 and H2O during the composting, thanks to microorganisms. In addition, being produced according to the 2002/72/CE directive, is suitable to get in direct contact with food. It is a material which has an excellent transparency and also perfect mechanical features. The thickness is from 0,20 to 1,00 mm.

It is possible to have, also on PLA basis, a cotton flocked material completely compostable too. In this case the thickness is from 0,40 to 0,80 mm. We have available clear colors on white base and dark colors on black base.

In parallel to these biomaterials we have also the chance to use recycled materials. In particular:
PET/R – it is PET which for 90% comes from the post-consumption of mineral water bottles
PS/R – it is a polystyrene which, in the black color, can be reached 100% from industrial waste of other polystyrene.
